I took the boys to a new indoor playground this week and had an experience that I wanted to talk about. When we got to the playground, there were lots of kids there. Of course several of them noticed Christian, which is fine. He was born to stand out in a crowd, not fit in. I don't mind that.
Of course there were kids saying things, nothing mean really, about Christian, just noticing him and asking questions. I heard a few parents shush their kids and tell them to be nice. Fair enough. We played for a little bit and as we played, I noticed that slowly, parents were trickling out with their kids. Maybe it was coincidence and they really did have to leave, but after about 30 or 45 minutes, we were left alone in the play area with only the kids we had come with.
I'm not insinuating that I know that this was on purpose, that these people were leaving to avoid us, but I am saying that I have learned quiet a bit about human nature since Christian has been born.
